The City of Cloquet's "Donate a Tree" initiative offers residents, businesses, and community organizations a meaningful opportunity to enhance the city's urban forest. By contributing to this program, donors can honor loved ones or commemorate special events through the planting of trees that will flourish in public spaces such as parks and trails.
This initiative not only serves as a living tribute but also enriches the community's green spaces, providing lasting benefits for all to enjoy.
• Trees may be donated anonymously or in honor or memory of a loved one or to recognize someone’s special achievement.
• The Parks Department reviews all requests.
• All trees will become city property.
• Tree locations will be situated throughout the City’s parks and along its trail systems.
• Tree locations will be discussed with city staff and the donor before ensuring the appropriate area.
• All contributors are acknowledged via the city’s website.
• The tree will be 1-2 inch caliper bare root or container size #20 or smaller.
• Planting will happen in the Spring or the Fall.
• Tree species are listed in our application.
• The tree is guaranteed for one year. If it does not survive within that time, it will be replaced once at no cost to the donor.
• Cost is $450, this includes installation by city staff. (reviewed yearly)
